About Vision ICS

Vision ICS started in August 2002 when John Salls left Cognex Corporation and started his own company. Though the company was new, the work certainly was not new to him — as a Distributor for DVT and then a Sales Engineer at Cognex, John believed the best way to get new business was to insure customers had working vision systems. Therefore, John often took it upon himself in assisting his customers with setting up and programming their vision systems. While his strategy worked well enough to earn him multiple sales awards at Cognex, many of John's co-workers and managers agreed that John shouldn't be selling vision systems, he should be programming them. Thus, Vision ICS, Incorporated was born.

Our mission at Vision ICS is quite simple: We Program Vision Systems. Of course, our extensive experience with Cognex Vision Systems makes them our primary focus, but much of our experience applies to other systems as well. Since starting the company, we have worked with other vision systems as well, including DVT, Matrox, PPT, and Keyence.

It is our philosophy that companies should focus on their core competencies to pursue success. Our core competency is applying Machine Vision Systems, making that the focus of our business. With that in mind, and realizing that no one organization can provide expertise with every system or has the skills to tackle every application, we network with other companies to supplement our knowledge and skill, such as programming PLC's, Motion Controllers, and Robots, or for mechanical design and equipment building, etc... By utilizing this network in addition to our own skills, we can offer a comprehensive, tight-knit solution to your specific machine vision needs.
